Phakic Intraocular Lenses

Phakic Intraocular Lenses are placed inside the eye through a small incision under local anesthesia and in front of the crystalline lens, to correct Myopia or Hyperopia. They are used as an alternative in cases where laser correction is not possible.
The method is painless, no stay in the clinic is required, while the patient usually leaves with uncovered eyes and begins to see soon after surgery.
However, a thorough preoperative check is required, because the data that will be collected is sent to the manufacturing company that will manufacture a lens specifically for the specific patient.
